Moving and Handling Principles
(HSE Approved)

The John Munroe Health Support Services is a registered provider of moving and handling principles with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and provides all delegates with a HSE approved certificate.

This course is designed to raise awareness of the problems and potential for
injury that can be caused by manual handling operations and moving and handling of people or objects.

The HSE recommend that all employers consider training in moving and handling as part of each new employees induction.

John Munroe Hospital can offer a 1 and half hour training session hosted at our head offices or delivered at your company at a competitive price.

The course covers how to cover objects safety, so that manual handling risks are reduced. The training includes

• Relevant Health and Safety Information
• Spinal anatomy, relevant structure and function
• Causes of back pain
• Risk assessment
• Base positions and movements leading to more complex moves including lifting objects.
• Hoist training can be provided at an additional cost
